Original Sprout, a local vegan, cruelty-free hair and skin care company, has partnered with Pretend City Children’s Museum to promote the physical, mental and developmental well-being of children.
As a child grows, physical health is often at the forefront of a new parent’s mind, but the overall wellness of a child is multi-faceted, with mental and developmental health also emerging as important. Since 2003, Original Sprout has been focused on creating allergen-free products that are safe for families to use. Original Sprout’s dedication to children’s health and overall well-being is also ingrained into the company’s philanthropic efforts.
Pretend City Children’s Museum is a nonprofit that aims to “build better brains” by encouraging kids to learn through play. This kid-sized city facilitates the development of problem-solving and critical thinking skills by maintaining an environment where teamwork and creativity thrive. As a nonprofit organization, Pretend City relies on the generosity of its community to keep its mission alive.

The Original Sprout team has recently sponsored Pretend City events such as Baby Steps, A Way to Play Day and Family Autism Night as a table sponsor and by donating raffle gifts, including Original Sprout products and toys that encourage learning and motor skill development. These events focus on providing children of all ages and abilities with the opportunity to engage in stimulating play as well as providing free developmental screenings such as vision, dental, and language skill screenings. For example, Family Autism Night is held monthly and is an opportunity for families with neurodiverse children of any age to enjoy The City in a sensory-friendly environment. The Original Sprout team attends these events regularly and plans to continue to support Pretend City and its goals as a sponsor.
“Our goal at the end of the day is to keep kids safe and healthy,” said Michael Ambacher, General Manager of Original Sprout. “At Original Sprout, we focus on children’s physical health by formulating products free of allergens. We are also passionate about children’s developmental health and can further those efforts by partnering with Pretend City.”
