What Is Patch Testing?
Patch testing is a method used to evaluate whether a product or ingredient may cause a skin reaction. Small amounts of a formula are applied to the skin under controlled conditions and observed over time.
Original Sprout uses volunteers for patch testing as an alternative to animal testing. Testing may include different skin types and age groups to help evaluate product formulas.

What does 'Hypoallergenic' mean?
“Hypoallergenic” means less likely to cause an allergic reaction. It doesn’t mean something is completely allergy‑proof — and it may contain some known allergens in the formula, but they are in such small quantities that they are not likely to cause an allergic reaction. You will see this claim on some of our packaging. It’s there because we lab test every product formula for allergic reactions. We’re proud to say that our products have produced no allergic reactions in any of our independent lab tests.
